Carl Fredricksen from Pixar’s Up. I have yet to see this movie, hoping to go this weekend. I’ve read some of the reviews and plot summaries, sounds great.
Got back in to colored pencils recently, I’ve been using the Cintiq but it was nice to get back to pencils for a bit.

With the release of the new PunchOut for the wii, I’m remembering the old skool original.
Added colors to the sketch. Didn’t realize that this was an old John Belushi skit on Saturday Night Live. Then I remembered that’s where I saw this imagery. Killer Bees -”they’re desparate, they’re banditos”
All She wants to do is DIG, for the possibility of finding a bone anywhere.
Been inspired by the old cartoons of 1940’s, these characters had a great amount of detail and style – just trying to bring that out in my drawings. Don’t make ‘em like they used to.
We had a great time in Nashville, and I’d love to go back again anytime…

Tribute to Maurice Sendak – I did this sketch a couple years ago, I was always amazed by the illustration of this book. I can’t imagine how many kids read this book and grew up to become artists. I couldn’t read this book enough as a kid, the monsters were so amazing. So glad to see they’re taking it to the big screen.
I did this a while back, and forgot I scanned it in. So this was a pretty easy post tonight.
